Lakeview Water Park

Jake had some time off this week so we took Flynn to the water park one day. We had so much fun! He didn't even mind that the water was freezing.
Flynn sticking his hand in the fountain that sprayed all of us! He couldn't figure out why he was getting so wet but liked the feeling of the water hitting his hands.

Daddy eating his belly!

Brenton's 8!!

Our nephew Brenton turned 8 on July 20. I can't believe he is so big. He is getting baptized this next month and is very excited! Here are a few pictures of his party. It was a water party in Jayson and Anita's back yard.

Brenton getting chased by the girls!

Flynn with his new friend Kendall. She was so nice to share and even nicer to help him eat!

Brenton was ecstatic about his new bike, a birthday present from his mom and dad!

This year we spent the 4th of July and the days that followed in Elk City at Jake's Families Cabin. We had a wonderful time. We went on several 4 wheel rides, floated the American River, went to Red River Hot Springs, Played badminton in the yard and even had our very own Drive in Movie.
My face is filthy in the picture and was after EVERY ride. It was super dusty; you combine that with sunscreen and I was a dirt magnet. Jake's face is completely clean because he uses a full face helmet where mine only covers certain parts.

Beautiful Madison
Flynn loved Madison's swing, poor guy, somehow he always gets stuck in pink! :)
It wouldn't be the 4th without some apple pie!

Flynn dressed in his parka to go watch the fireworks! I didn't want him to get cold! Ha ha!
Waiting for the fireworks to start
Aj and Brailie sitting on the Tank at the Veterans Memorial
Anita and Jake stayed back at the truck with the babies so it wouldn't be so loud for them.

Anita's Jello Flag Cake was awesome! It was the biggest Jello Jiggler I've ever seen.

Playing badminton

On Thursday we floated the American River. It was super shallow and we were contantly getting stuck on the rocks! We probably walked as much of it as we floated but it was still a blast. When we got out of the river Grandma and Grandpa had lunch waiting for us. They stayed back with Madison and Flynn so that the rest of us could float the river. It was so nice of them!

Jayson and Rooster striking a  pose.
After getting out of the freezing cold river we decided to pack everyone up and head for the Hot Springs.

Flynn loved the water. I can only imagine what he was thinking; it was so warm. We were in the water for nearly 3 hours and his hands and feet never went pruney. We decided that it must be because he has Fred Flinstone feet!

Playing a very competitive game of volleyball!

Flynn learned to sit up by himself while we were gone! He has been trying for a while but his head is so big he gets tired quickly. :)

Jake in Wild Horse Lake, It is absolutely beautiful but freezing cold as it is entirely snow run off. Jake was the only adult that was crazy enough to go out in it.

On Saturday in town there was a big potluck for the ATV Club that we are apart of so we all wore Flag tees   to show our Festiveness.

Gotta love Brenton's Smile in this photo.
We recently bought a projector for the cabin so that we can enjoy movies outside while we are in the mountains. Rick and the boys Ran some sheets along some scaffolding so that we could still sit by the fire and  watch where it was warm. It was so great. On our final night there we watched The Great Outdoors with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. It was so funny. I had never seen it before and loved it!
All in all it was a wonderful weekend and we feel so blessed to have been able to go. Since this is a post about the 4th of July I would just like to thank all of our Military both past and present for their sacrifice and courage in defending and maintaining our Freedom! You truly are Hero's!
