Anniversary Weekend!

On February 23 we celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary. I feel so blessed to be married to Jake. He is still my best friend, and the most incredible father that you could possibly ask for. I love him with all my heart and appreciate all that he does and all that he sacrifices for our family. We had wanted to take a trip for our 5th but with me in school it kinda kills any vacation plans at least until May, so we went out to dinner together in Boise. We went to a fairly new restaurant called the Fork.... I loved the sign so I made Jake pose for a picture... He is a good sport!

We walked downtown Boise for a while until we got too cold and couldn't stand it anymore. Boise looks like such a big city. I can't believe it.
This was on Sunday at my parents house.. I thought it was too cute. Miss Libby and Uncle Jake reading the funnies together!
Since we didn't get to go out of town for our Anniversary, Jake took Monday off and we decided to make it a family day. We went out to Givens Hot springs and played in the water for several hours! Flynn loves it there.

Jennifer and Ellie came with us as well.. It was Ellie's 1st time swimming and she loved it.She is such a cute girl! I hope Flynn dates her someday!
Daddy and Flynnie

Flynn and Daddy being Silly

Flynn loves to share fruit snacks with daddy.. probably because daddy makes them into a toy!

Love my boys! They never cease to make me laugh. Ü

Spring is almost here!

We finally had a warm day... Mid February we had a beautiful Sunday so we BBQ at Jayson and Anita's house. It was still too cold for the kids to be without coats but it was warm enough for them to know that they wanted to be outside.
Sweet Flynnie.. He has been so cute.. Last year he was too small to enjoy being outside. At the end of the summer he was barely crawling so he is loving being able to walk all over the place. I love his aviator hat in the photo! His head is so big I had to buy a 3T hat!

Matt and Peyton

Brailie and Madison.. Happy to swing!
The big boys, and the little boys playing football in the backyard.

Love this little man!

I love this picture... he is looking at Jake with the sweetest expression on his face!
His hair is getting long on top and everyone keeps trying to convince me to cut it but I just can't bring myself to do it yet.... He doesn't have enough there! I love his little Mohawk. Ü

Valentines Day

For the past 3 years Jake and I have eaten at the same Japanese Steak house on Valentines Day. It is great food, and a fabulous show. Our chef was so entertaining. We love it and keep going back. Matt and Aj are the ones that introduced it to us and have been with us every year but the rest of the group changes from year to year. This year Jake's parents, Lj and Kari, and Randy and Veronique also joined us. It was so fun!
Waiting for Dinner!

I love my husband! He is such a goof!
One of my biggest weaknesses is ice cream so Jake got me an ice cream cake from my favorite, Cold Stone Creamery! It was delicious. For some people this might be a cheesy gift but I loved it! It was something that Jake knew I would love!

Aj's Birthday

February 10 Aj turned 27! We had a little party for her at her house. Grandpa made green chili tacos and we ate delicious cake!

 Presents!

Grandpa Hyer

On February 4, 2013 my grandfather, Clare Hyer, peacefully slipped from this life to the next. I feel extremely blessed to have been able to spend his final hours with him. The day that he passed I struggled to find words to express the emotions that I was feeling and the love that I had for him. My brother Randy seemed to say what I couldn't... He posted this to facebook just shortly after hearing of  my Grandpa's passing.

The world lost something special today.......an individual.......probably the greatest man I've ever known.......at the age of 90 years old, my grandpa, who has been battling Lou Gehrig's Disease for an unknown length of time, returned home to live with his loving father in heaven. I will miss him dearly! He was one of the greatest examples to me through my life, and truly one of my hero's! Although he may be gone from us now, he will certainly not be forgotten! And to him I say, "God be with you til we meet again!"

I took this picture the night that my grandpa died. I had been looking through pictures of him and fell in love with this one, it was him shortly after joining the navy. He is so young here;  and strikingly handsome if I do say so myself.
I spent the days following his passing preparing a slideshow of pictures from Grandpa's life. Together with Jake and my cousin Cynthia we made a wonderful CD, it was set to music from his generation and ours. It is something that I will cherish forever.
Sorting pictures
The finished product. We made 50 of them so that all of the children and grandchildren could have a copy.

Grandpa was a veteran so his casket was draped with a flag.

Me with three of my cousins. We grew up pretty close because we were all born within a year of each other.  As sad as funerals are it was wonderful to see all of them and spend time together.

Dad walking with Grandma

Steven, Randy and Kyle acted as the military honor guard for his graveside service. It was incredibly touching and I'm sure a memory that they will never forget.

My brother Steven presenting my Grandma with the flag. The honor guard member with the highest rank presents the flag.

Before we left the cemetery we all sang "Tell Me Why". Its an old song that my dad grew up singing as a child and then taught to our family when I was a kid.

We took this picture right before we left the gym after the family luncheon so its not everyone, but most of the grandchildren and some of the great grandchildren.

Rub a dub dub, five babies in a tub! This was taken back at my parents house after the funeral. Flynnie is the only boy with all these girl cousins!
